Files Go by Google for Android?

By now you all might have heard about the new app launched by the Google, "Files Go". You may be tempted to install the application on your Android phone. Before you install this app go through the below review and then you choose if you really want to install this application on your phone or not.

The newly launched Files Go app was sometime around in the Google Play Store available as a beta app. I installed it back then with some curiosity that it may be different from what we see on the Play Store daily but to my disappointment it is nothing else than any other File Manager app which is included with phone memory cleaner and file transfer feature.

We all at this point have used various types of memory cleaning apps such as Clean Master, Super Booster to name a few and various file transfer apps like Shareit & Xender by now. Google has just integrated both of these options in one app along with the File Manager option inside this application.

Application Review & Design:

The app has been flawlessly designed by the Google and it is easy to understand what features are provided inside the app.
Application only seeks permission to use your media and photos which is not an issue. The application also claims to clear the cache data of the phone but as per my observation the app doesn't clears all the cache data and it only clears some of the data. Maybe Google designed to clear only those cache data which are completely useless and it keeps useful cache data as it is.

Pros:

1. Trusted file manager app for stock Android phones which doesn't have one.

2. Offline file transfer

3. Shows downloaded files

4. Shows duplicate media files

5. Able to sort media files by Screenshots, backgrounds, Instagram, WhatsApp, Bluetooth, Camera and so on.

6. Notifies you when you are on low storage space.

7. Can setup custom notifications for unused apps, files, and duplicate media.

8. Won't spam like those memory cleaning apps we generally use.

Cons:

1. Sometimes wrong media files are shown as duplicate files.

2. Nothing new.

Conclusion:

The application seems to be designed and launched for the for low end phones having less storage like 8 GB or 16 GB storage and other elite phones having much enough storage space need not to worry about it. This app offers little to nothing in my opinion. But it is becoming a must have Android app with so many users installing the app quickly.

Should you install it?

Yes, if you own a low storage Android phone then you could try the app and it won't disappoint you that much. With the future updates we hope to see much more improvement in the app with some exciting ideas and features.

No, if you already are happy with a file manager app and a memory cleaing app.

To sum up this app we could say the old saying "Old wine in a new bottle".
